You Need to See These Pictures of Pedro Pascal & His Beloved Dog

At this point, it’s basically criminal to not completely adore actor Pedro Pascal. Not to toot my own horn, but I was a little ahead of the game when it comes to being a Pedro fan. I’m not ashamed to admit that I went a little insane during 2020 (who didn’t) and became absolutely obsessed with the Last of Us star. Fortunately, I have since cooled down on my devotion, but I’ll always have a soft spot for him.

One of the reasons I continue to appreciate Pedro is his love of dogs. While he doesn’t currently have a canine companion, he loves furry friends. The Instagram account, A History of Dogs, recently uploaded pictures of Pedro with his lovely rescue dog, Gretta. According to the Instagram account, Pedro adopted the furry friend when he was 24 years old following his mother’s passing. He shared that he wished his adorable girl could have lived long enough to see him make it as a successful actor.

“She saved my life, that dog, because she gave me someone to go home to,” said Pedro about Gretta in a 2025 Vanity Fair interview. “I think about how poor I was when I had Gretta. I think about when I had double shifts and I couldn’t find anybody to let her out and we were living in this s—--- apartment in Red Hook, and I think about the bougie life she would be leading with me now as opposed to then and I grieve, I really do.”

Long-time fans of Pedro know that he had another dog named  Edgar. The tiny pup had very large ears, giving him a striking resemblance to Pedro’s on-screen adoptive son, Grogu.
