Can Dogs Eat Smoked Salmon?
I absolutely love lox and bagels! However, it’s a little unpleasant to eat it when my furry friend is around. She stares deeply into my eyes and telepathically tells me I need to share, otherwise she’ll hate me forever.
Unfortunately for her, she’ll never be able to enjoy a lox and bagel. For one, onions are toxic to our furry friends, and cream cheese is much too rich. In addition, Purina reported that smoked salmon is not safe to give dogs, as it is cured. Smoked salmon is also super salty, meaning it’s not great for our canine companions.
However, dogs can occasionally have a bite or two of fully cooked, deboned salmon. Just a reminder – always get your vet’s approval before adding anything, like cooked salmon, to your dog’s diet!
